    question about m6?????

I need to find out if the 6 speed manual has some type of lockout/safety feature that prohibits the car to engage reverse while it's moving.

If anyone know's of a website that has information about this let me know.

Yea i should know from experience too. I was wondering about it and at about 60mph i tried to put it in reverse and i was locked out, so that answers your question.
Even at about 5mph it locks me out (braking and trying to revers into a spot.)

reason i ask is the dealer told me they wont fix my tranny next time i bring it in......they said theyll take me to court, stating im abusing it intentionally.....my car is still under gm warranty........i knew enough to say its impossible to shift into reverse but i need specific info....i found it at drivetrain.com/gmt56ins thanks

The T56 has what is called a reverse inhibitor. It is NOT a lock out . It adds a significant load to over come before getting reverse above a control MPH( close to 5 MPH). The dealer has determined that your trans has been clash-shifted into reverse( quite common with missing a 5th shift and crashing thru the inhibitor load). Are you the original owner? Bottom line is one can over-power the inhibitor and damage reverse. It is not likely you could actually get reverse above 40MPH but the damage from clashing is real.

Why would you put it in reverse at 60?
