2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
$85/hr is the going rate for labor at shops here in Phx. The amount of time to install will depend on how many times you have to set up the ring and pinion to get the proper backlash and tooth pattern.
If the guys lucky the factory shims will work. Otherwise he'll have to take it apart a few times and juggle shims.
What type of gears did you get? I found that AAM gears are the quitest.
Don't forget the cost of fluids and disposal also.

I believe Summit vends either Motive or Richmond gears. I've found that Richmond tends to be quiter then Motive and AAM gears are the quitest as they are what GM used from the factory.
Is your car an A4?

Just make sure he has a good rep... Not a hard instail but it has to be perfect otherwise your rear end will eat it self up...
300.00 doesnt seem to bad at all.

yeah my car is an A4, and yeah thats the thing... i have heard of a couple guys going to this guy, but he said he wouldnt give me a warranty because I bought my own gears... so if something were to go wrong then I would be screwed.
