    Opinions ON Moser 12

Ok so i have the chance to purchase a moser 12. It has 4.11, eaton, girdled cover, 4 channel, 1350 yoke. Would this be a direct install in a 2000 SS? It will also come with UMI tunnel mount tq arm and sway bar relocation brackets and Drive shaft. Can i use lowering springs with this setup or can i use the stock suspension? What else would be needed.

My first time with installing a aftermarket rear.

    Thanks,

Stay away from the Moser 12 bolts for a few reasons.

We have had alot of issues with Moser. To top that off they wouldn't back their products. Biggest complaint with the Moser 12 bolt housings is they are cast in house, we found on a jig the housing wasn't perfectly straight in relation to the pinion and main cap centerline and couldn't get a set of gears setup properly. There were other issues I won't get into.

Both Strange and Currie have their housings cast from an outside source, with much better quality. Go with Strange or Currie and you'll be happier in the long run.

A Moser 9" isn't as bad of a choice, because the 9" housing is steel, only the 3rd member is cast. I've used Moser housings with 3rd members from Strange and had great results. However I would never use a 3rd member from Moser.
