    Odd problem...

i did a 4500 or so rpm dump (to scare the shit out of a girl i was giving a ride) and my rpms died out... and the car stalled... no smell of burning clutch or anything... when i started the car it wouldn't go in to gear... so i put it in second and started it and drove it home...

here is where it gets weird...

i take it to a shop so i can drop the trans out... on there way there coming up to a light it cluncks a few times and i have my clutch back and can shift normal instead of shutting it off at every stop and the starting it in gear...

    what could the problem be?

SO basically it feels like the clutch is not dis-engaging? Im thinking collapsed pressure plate!

no... it's a new spec stage 3+... it is fine now... shifts fine... every thing... but i'm afraid that there is still something wrong or lose in the drive line some where...

when the car was running... it wouldn't let me put it gear...
when the car was not running... it would let me put it in gear...

then *clunk* every thing is working fine again...

Sorry have never heard of it breaking like that and re-fixing itself as if there is nothing wrong. But it really sounds like something with the clutch. Whether it be throwout bearing or something else beats me. But I think its worth tearing apart to find out.

i was fine... i rev matched and shifted with out the clutch... i had to start my car with it in first (only way it would go in gear was when the engine was not running...) and go from there...

    Cool

You see , this is what happens at just the WRONG
time as you are showing off to the ladies . Its called , " MURPHY"S LAW " !
Happens to me all the time. On my Harley or in my Vert. just at the most un-opportune time cause you have your confidence up & have successfully performed this procedure many times before. And now , just when you are most vulnerable , something fucks up & cause's much embarrassment in front of the ladies. I mean , what are the odds ?

    exhast hanger wear

    trans mount bushing bolt wear

    out put shaft wear...

they are all the same length in wear... could this be a broken motor mount letting my engine slide back almost a half inch?

I would guess motor mount too. I have had the trans mount get a small rip that wasnt noticable until prying on it with a crow bar.
