Navy Blue Metallic- 98 T/A w/ mods, 00 FBVert
both are poly, energy suspension has a good rep. I've gotten a set of their engine mounts and after pulling the tranny & engine last night I know I need to add a tranny mount to my parts list.

The car is going to viberate more so just be ready for that
At idle, driving down the road, freeway, etc
If you dont want any extra vibration, use a stock mount

Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
My Prothane vibrates a lot less than my buddy's Energy Suspensions one. He ended up going back to stock he hated it so much. It's all a matter of opinion but i like my Prothane one.

The poly mount in our car lasted a couple of days before I yanked it and threw the stocker back in. Way too much vibration imo.

It will chatter/vibrate at certain RPM's. I like mine, but I also like the noise and vibration. Lets you know you got something alive under the car.

well. my tranny sure moves around alot and i could litterally sword fight with my shifter
my poly engine mounts are doing fine and i dont mind them. but maybe ill try the poly. if worse comes to worse, ill just jack it up yank it out and throw a stock one back in there

Midnight Blue- 2002 Camaro Z28
Please allow me to take this thread off on a tangent. I am going to install long tube headers soon and have read this is the time to do motor mounts. Everything I have read says go with poly motor mounts. I assumed the trans mount would be changed to poly at the same time. So, you guys are using poly motor mounts and rubber trans mount?

Vibrations = fun
They don't bother me at all.

Poly engine mounts and a stock rubber trans mount here. No issues at all.

So the difference in mount material will not cause cracking of the trans case? I recall reading somewhere that could be an issue because the front of the motor/trans assembly is not allowed to vibrate as much as the back half causing issues. It has been a long time since I looked into the benefits of different mount types, so please bear with me.

<< If launching our car at the track like this hasn't broken the transmission case, I am guessing that is nothing more than an unfounded rumour. If anything, the poly mounts better dampen and absorb the side-to-side movement which would be the torsional stress on the engine and transmission. The trans mount is simply here to hold up the back of the engine and transmission assembly.

I installed the Poly motor and trans mounts. Can't keep change in the ashtray any more, that jingles and rattles like crazy. I have noticed a shaking/ excessive vibration at 45 mph in 4th gear, shift to 5th and it goes away. I think it will be bearable. I just hate the conversations w/ every person that rides in the car.
"What's wrong with your car?"
"Nothing, it has poly mounts"
"What are those?"
"UGH"

Can everyone say which tranny mount (brand) they used, if the are a4 or m6, and the vibration?
I used Prothane motor and trans on my m6 and didn't notice much difference in vibration. My shifter quit moving around and not much more (if any) vibration. I do have a little nosie I didn't have before, but only when my foot is not on the clutch and it is ideling. Like at a red light.
