Need help quick!
My 10 bolt has finally bit it and instead of rebuilding it I want to upgrade to a 12 bolt, problem is I have no idea what I need. I drive it everyday so not a full race setup or anything. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys.

IMO i would go with a ford 9...4.11...and a detroit locker with 35 spline axels...with your being a DD it wont be too bad on gas some people dont even see a change...

do you have plans for big mods? If it's your DD and you're not planning on tracking it a whole bunch a 12 bolt will be fine. If you go to the track much a 9" or s60 might be the better way to go. Depending on what brand and who you get it through you may have to have your brake backing plates taken off your old rear and pressed into the new one. I went with a Strange and the place I got mine ( no longer selling rears) had a complete package that came with the backing plates already pressed. The reason I went with strange was because after the backing plates were pressed in it was a direct bolt in, even came filled with fluid. The other reason is the torque arm mount. The moser's have had problems with the torque arm bolts backing out because they use 4 small bolts instead of the 2 long pass through bolts that strange uses and also came OEM. IMO with limited mods and an auto a 12bolt would be fine. That's just opinion though.

is there any other benefit to a 12 bolt or 9 inch other than strength? just wondering if Im going to notice anything different. Thanks for the help guys, last thing, should I get 33 spline or would 30 be fine? might take it to the track a little, maybe turbo in the future (distant) as well. Thanks again.

12 bolt or Moser 9'' if you plan on putting turbo on it and track it a bit too.
so order a complete set with new 3:73 gears and Moser 9'' rearend is a better choice in strength.

one more question, what about abs and traction control? since its a DD should I get abs? is that something that can be pulled off my old rearend?

Jays00SS, Do you ever drive on the interstate? i dont want to lose much more top end, whats it like? I always thought you really shouldnt go more than 3.73 with an automatic.

So while im at it, do you think I should go ahead and go 3.90's instead of putting 3.73's back in? Keep in mind I do interstate driving.

i would you might as well b.c if you dont like the way 3.73 feel and go with 3.90's its going to cost you more in the long run..if your worried about gas it wont be all that bad
