help 4l60e tq converter, flexplate clearance problems

Putting together a LS1/4l60 jeep wrangler but im having some issues

picked up a used 4l60e that i was told came out of a 99-04 4wd truck. i have a ls1 from my 2001 camaro and camaro flexplate and yank ss3600 converter. converter bottoms out against flexplate before bellhousing seats against engine. I did in fact make sure and double check that the converter was seated all the way inside the trans. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS TO GET THIS FIGURED OUT AND INSTALLED

Measure the setback for the mounting flanges on the converter to the face of the bell housing -- should be around 1-3/16". I know the spec was incorrect in the instructions I received with our torque converter. This is the procedure if you have not checked one before (VIDEO):

you spun it until it dropped 3 different times? I would have to look and see if there are any input shaft and front pump differences between 4wd and 2wd......seems like I read a long time ago that there is but not positive on that. I know the output shaft is obviously different. How much difference is there?

Yeah I have done a few converter swaps and normally some shimmy, a little shake, and rotating the converter gets a few clunks and has the converter sitting right up against the pump bolts and bolting the converter to the flex plate pulls it back out about 3/8". Not this time, I can get my whole hand behind the converter and it bottoms out against the flex plate way too early to even get all the hdwr in.

Try sliding your old converter on and see what happens.
