    GTO rear Diff

My buddy's rear differential cracked on his 05 GTO and GM wont cover it under warranty cause they says theres evidence of street racing

Is this a common problem? I know F-body rears go but i havent heard much about GTOs. What should he do? They said it would cost him 5 grand!

Unless they have video of him street racing they have no evidence. Total bs they built these cars to go fast then people drive them fast and gm does't want to cover the pos rears they put in there cars.

I'd take it to another dealer and if he as any aftermarket parts take them off before he brings it to the next dealer. Aftermarket parts= no coverage on warranty they will say your aftermarket air filter blew the rear end.

some of those dealerships are networked now and keep history through GM based on your VIN. I would try it elsewhere with the goodies off of the car.
