going from 3.23 to 3.42 gears..

Hi guys i'm swaping from stock gears to 3.42. Can anyone tell me how much my VSS is going to be off?

Also does anyone know the best way to reset your VSS so that it is accurate? i know the power max programmer can adjust for tire size changes but i need to read up and see if it will do it for gear changes also.

    Thanks,

    Casey

Not that much difference between the two gears, you can check it out at www.f-body.org/gears/ If your programmer will change the speedo for tire size it'll probably let you adjust the ratio also.

good question. To be completely honest, i was entending to purchase stock gears, and miss read that the 3.42 was stock for the A4. I wouldnt have even know they were different except the mechanic i have doing my rear for me counted the old teeth to match the new and called me and told me they were different. I felt like a total goober. Hah.. But for the motive gears that i wanted Summit was 2 weeks out before they would ship so i told him to just go ahead and put the 3.42 in because this is my DD.

i changed from 3:23's to 3:42's in my sixxer, made a small difference, hard to tell at higher speeds, but good on the bottom
