well thats what i was thinkin, but my buddy has a full bolt on ls1 and he says the 4.10s are almost to short of a gear and my cars way faster than his.. how will that affect my gas mileage? but anybody with gears talk to me!!!

With 4.11s I am just crossing the 1/8th at almost 91 mph which is the very top of 3rd for me (around 6500 rpm). That is also with a stock height tire. Eventually, once I have the new motor in that gear will be to short, but all I need is a taller tire.

Right now my gas mileage really did not change at all. In town you just use a higher gear. On the highway instead of cruising at 80 I now cruise at 75 and get fairly close mpg.

    At LEAST 4.10's.

I am going to actually jump from my 4.11's to 4.56's here soon. Couple months.

    only reason not to is:

    1. The car is going to see lots and lots of highway miles and you are worried about mpg.

    2. You are making a lot of power and will top out even with 28" tall tires.

I really like my 4.10's. I wouldn't go any other way.

    Okay...nothing too big.

    4.10's would be perfect.

yea its a small cam.. (or at least sounds like it)doesnt sound like a prostock car or somethin lmao. good ill go with 4.10s then, prolly will make me fight for traction tho, cuz with my good tires right now even from a 30 punch it will hook

One thing to also consider. If you are going to put the money into gears, you might want to save and get a stronger rear end instead. It is expensive, but if you are making any kind of power and start hooking than you will find the cost getting closer and closer between the two options.

Depends what your looking for. If you want the best of both worlds, (gas mileage and top end) AND (getting the RPM's up faster) id go with 3.90's. If its all about that time slip though go with the 4.11s.

Really the only difference between the two is a hundred or two RPM at 70 MPH. Might as well go with the 4.10s.

well my cars not gonna see much of the track, and my rear end has held together so far... cross your fingers, but idk if its stock or not, the guy we bought it from didnt mention it so idk, i think im gonna get the 4.10s then just be easy on my car then get one later.., like no digg races from 4 or 5k lol. as long as its low roll races(because my car dont wheel hop) my rear end should be ok right?
