    Gear oil change problem

i just changed my gear oil and when i went to put the fill plug back in its going in except for two threads. is that how it is supposed to be? i didnt notice when i took it out if it was all the way in. also the threads on the plug were all fine but it was going in harder than i took it out. it was really dirty. could it have been just dirt in the threads clogging it up. i sprayed the plug with carb cleaner. i noticed the threads were dirty but i didnt want to spray carb cleaner onto the threads because i didnt know what it would do if it got onto the gears. sorry for all the questions. this is the first time ive ever changed it and im a little paranoid.

it's normal to not go in by hand easily.
