    diff service

    this weekend i will try to change oil and new gasket on diff. i plan on going to local parts store is there a part number for the gasket? and im going to look at moble1 or royal purple 75w-90. do i need to get some additive also? does the royal purple allready have this additive?

    We try to avoid royal purple. And yes you need the additive but you can add it later if you can't find it right away

    Posi additive. Allows the clutches (or cones depending on rr type) to slide against each other when going around corners.

    the gaskets leak! use a gas/oil RVT sealer, run a bead on both the rear end and on the cover, make sure both are super clean, Might as well order a TA cover girdle and blot kit,
    I run lucas oil/gear addative and lucas rear end diff gear oil ,a quart of each
