How many miles on your clutch ?
Allthough it may just be the slave cylinder...
If your going to pull the transmission, it's worth while to replace
the clutch and hydraulics completely. It's recommended to update the hydraulics to the lastest improved 2001+ version.
I've had my tranny out twice and it's a bit of work.
Those T56's are heavy.

first check your clutch fluid, then replace slave, then master (if it doesn't fix).

did you fix problem? if your fluid is low, you got a leak somewhere. shouldn't be hard to find if your car is clean. since youre low on fluid, that would explain your pedal not comin back up.

mine is doing that so I'm replacing the clutch, flywheel, and master cylinder....but thats because everything needs to go. But the master cylinder should fix the hydraulics

Haven't fixed it yet cause of the ice storm in ky. My dad keeps his 69 chevelle in the garage and wont move it. I dont blame him, lol. Soon as it clears up some ill check for leaks and pull the tranny if needed.

shouldn't have to pull tranny. do everything you can before. . . .it's very rare for a part in the clutch to act up like that.
