Clicking noice when accelerating hard and turning.

Well, I finally bought a 1998 SS, but got a few questions. Under hard acceleration and accelerating outta turns, there's clicking noises or knocking noises coming from the rear end. I was just told that the car has posi. The car dosen't have traction control. Is this true that the noise is normal because of the posi?? The seller had already put in a 4.10 rear end. Thanks.

The gear oil needs some GM Posi additive in it. If it were me, I would change out the gear oil, then fill it with Royal purple or Red Line Gear oil 75w90. (it does not need any posi additive) Or you can change it out with regular gear oil and then add GM posi additive.
2000 SS Camaro Heads, Large cam, Fast 90, 9"w/430's and locker, yada yada yada... you get the picture

If you dig around in google you will find a GM TSB about the additional noise cause by the torsen rear axle. They claim it's normal. My makes the same noise. I've stopped worrying about it. If it lets go I get to buy a better unit.
