Changing from maual to auto tranny Crank Problems
I have an LS1 motor from Turnkey Engine Supplies. The motor was fitted to a manual transmission and I am now wanting to change to a 4L60e auto. The problem I have is that torque converter does not fit into the back of the crank. There is a brass bush pressed in to the back which obviously can be removed, however, even with the brass bush removed there appears to be another metal piece that will prevent engagement of the torque converter.
The question is, is the second bit of metal in the back of the crank pressed in and hence removable or is it part of the crank?
I attach hereto a picture of the rear of the crank which hopefully will better illustrate what I have been trying to describe.
