    carriers????

i am getting a set of 3:42s for my z currently with 2:73s and i was wondering if there is a kit that comes with everything that i need to change from the 2 series carrier to the 3 series carrier and install the gears all in one package? alot of things that ive found show just carriers but dont say whether it is the 2 or 3 series and i have obviously seen quite a few gear install kits. anyone that responds thanks in advance.

that's the way to do it. no internal dis-assembly/re-assembly,no gear setup.Remove rearend, install replacement rearend, and go drive and enjoy.

Alot of times they label carriers like 1988 & Up 28 Spline GM 7.5in & 7 5/8in 10 Bolt gear ratios from 3.23 & Up
Install kits are universal between 2 and 3 series carriers

So you will be buying 6 things
    Gear set
    3 series posi carrier
    install kit
    Cover gasket
    Gear lube
    Limited Slip additive

Also, you can purchase a 3.42 gearset made for a 2 series carrier and save the money of having to buy a 3 series carrier.
