Can a pressure plate be turned???

I just ordered a new LS7 clutch kit off of ebay and noticed a nick in the pressure plate that sticks out. I don't want this to toast the top millimeter of my clutch disc..... Can I have it turned or milled down like a flywheel or is there no hope with a pressure plate

Blanchard grinder would do it. Not sure of the minimum thickness specs tho.
