Which is better?
For a 10 bolt, Auburn VS Eaton posi? Street/daily driven load with 4.10 gears. The guys I talked to at the local gear shop said they like eaton better because the clutch pack is better for street use. Best to ask the guys that actually have tried it. Thanks again for you thoughts.
ps. I never hit the track or use slick so I'm not going to buy a 12' or 9' bolt

I guess its a personal preference. I have always had Eaton. I have been around drag racing for 20 years a lot of the guys at the track use Eaton. I have a Detroit Locker in my 9" they have always been the industry standard as the strongest unit you can buy besides going to a spool.
Their clutch posi units have a better material and do not ware out as fast.

Aww, thanks for the pointers. I looks like I'll be getting an Eaton. Anything special I should be doing to it, like micro polishing or cryo stuff?

As with any band aide you will be doing on the 10 bolt, don't be surprised that someday you better know a buddy with a truck and trailer to get you home.
I look at buying a new rear end for our f-body as comparing it to Lasic on your eyes. Sure the initial investment is a little much, But you'll never have to worry about it again.

It’s true, I'm aware that the stock 10 bolts sucks. But I have got 60k with bolt ons and nitrous. Used to beat the crap out of the car when it was new and never a peep out of the stock diff. I don’t race any more and never used sticky tires since. So I'm pretty confident she'll work fine. I agree that a 12 bolts or 9' would be a fail safe but I also think the stock diff gets a bad rap. Everyone thinks that if you stick a filter and exhaust the diff will blow up like a bad science experiment. Yes it has happened, although I not going to be really stressing the unit. Just want more torque with opting for heads and cam.
