If I was racing alot and planned on switching gears all the time. Yes a 9" would make sense. Plus with the S60, I can keep my Torque Arm and Relocation Mounts.

And I can keep my car all GM

S60 is DANA....DANA is a creation from Mopar. 9" is a ford design...although MWC doesn't use the ford housing, it's all built in house. 12 bolt is GM design.

I went with the Moser 9" with the aluminum center section from Exotic. About $3200 total with everything. (Thank you tax credits) I did end up losing about 30hp to the wheels when all was said and done since I belive the 9" is the least efficient rear end out there.

Here's a good article I found on Chevy Performance that compares a 12 bolt to a 9". As you'll read...the 9" provides more strength but does cost 1 to 2 percent power loss. Plus the 9" is heavier. Pro's and Con's.

i think the gear change screwed the results a little. assuming you put different gears in

Thats still about $3500 with a DS.

So everyone tells me to get a 9" since you can easily change out the gears.
    How many have done that??

not really a valid issue in your case, as i doubt you will be swapping gears very often

I think that's a good choice. If you were 400-500HP on the juice a 12 bolt might make sense but why put it in at your power level and have your ass draw up everytime you hit it with the juice and possibly be doing this all again at some point? With the S60 your rear buying days are over.

The S60 still looks good and I get a new DS. I will never be swapping gears. so I still don't see any reason to get the 9"
