auto to m6 swap?

my buddy is looking a an ls1 SS...we found exactly what he wanted only it was an auto... he HAS to have an m6... which i understand...

how much of a pain is it... ive read some things on m6 to auto.... but cant find vice versa... there are enough salvaged cars for sale that i think you could almost ofset the price by selling th auto out of it since draggers like autos...

the car he found is a good deal too... so if its not TOOOOOOO much trouble it would be a consideration.

how do you install the clutch/brake pedals... do you have to have another comp... do you need a new driveshaft? new console?.... i need to know specifics...

if you have a crashed donor car its still alot of work...plus the computer needs to be reprogramed.Figure you need,flywheel,clutch,pressure plate,all the hydraulics,lines,pedals,console and of course the trans.Without a donor car its gonna get expensive and turn into what goes where????

swap kits start with $2000 or so.
check on LS1TECH.com under manual trannies: there's a sticky about that with all the necessary information.

I understand too, but there are a lot of cars out there, more M6's than A4's if you believe some of the numbers. Not worth the aggravation for a car you don't yet own, IMO
