    aluminum vs steel driveshaft

i just got my 3.73 12 bolt in and love it over my 2.73 gears,

now, i still have the stock steel shaft in the car and with the weight and speed it is traveling im sure it is draining some power, and from what i have heard the aluminum is alot lighter and stronger, soooo.........shouldn't i get one? i dont think it will make a whole lot of difference off the line but 60mph and up it should help with those gears....

    anyone else do this before?

I did just the opposite. Aluminum stronger? Hah!

Being as you're an automatic you'd prolly be safe with the aluminum one. I don't think it made any difference performance wise tho.

4,500-5,000rpm launches on ET Streets w/4:11 gears with a Mcleod kevlar clutch. Aftermarket aluminum driveshafts will be stronger than a stock alum one.

x2. Theres alot more I'd replace before I dumped money on a driveshaft especially if you already have the strongest of the 2 factory items.

just curious on weight differences, empire sells there aluminum shaft for 300 bucks, not saying its worth the money but they also say their aluminum shaft is stronger than our stock steel
