www.KYSpeed.com is now a Moser dealer. He's a Sponsor at this site. Depending on your goals, I would go 9". But if you want your car to be all GM, with working ABS etc you might be better off going with a 12 bolt. I just sold my used 12 bolt to a guy, and his main reason was because he wanted everything to be GM and keep ABS. You can keep ABS with the 9", but it seems they have more problems.
Marksls1ta is the guys member name for KYSpeed.

If you're an auto a 12 bolt is more than enough usually. If you are a M6 your time might be a little more limited depending on your power levels with a 12 bolt...
They always say
Auto : 12 bolt
M6: 9 inch

I could use some help. I wanted to know how much I could get a 12 bolt with 4 channel abs, something close to 3.50 gears and a decent posi unit would go for. I am a street car not a track car but I am building a 383 stroker right now and I have 100k on my stocker so the time will come soon. The car is an A4 but I don't want to go all the way down to 3.73's

I have a Moser 9", as well does HiPo (he can comment on his setup) with a 4.11 gear and mine is really quiet. Now I have heard that some gears are nosier than others. As an example, the Moser 3.89 gear is a special cut that tends to be nosier than others. Never heard it first-hand though.

My Moser 9" was dead silent for the first 1300 mils or so. Now, after 20 pass's at the 1/4 its got a whine at 70 MPH. Its managable. Most aftermarket gears are going to be noisier. My Moser 12 bolt was very noisy. At 55MPH the whine started, that was more annoying.

Hum I know breakin has a lot to do with it too so I wonder if that is part of it as well. How much more is a 9inch from a 12 bolt? I am an Auto car so I really don't need the strenght and I will only be making about 400rwhp to the rear wheels but I don't trust the stocker

I run a moser 9" in mine...it was a little whiny about 70ish with my 3.89's and now its about the same with my 4.71's id pick a 9" over a 12bolt any day for the ease of maintenence. i can pull the 3rdmember and put it back in in about 2 hours or less
