65K miles, look at my bearings!!!
Still can't believe how bad my bearings were
This came out of the rear end of my 65K mile Z
Had to take care of the leaking, whining, crappy geared rear end
All chewed up

All too common, but suspicious sounds from a rearend do not necessarily mean bearings.Axle bearings, carrier and pinion bearings, and gearset(whose lash has changed from wear)can all cause suspicious sounds. Our rearends are notorious for leaking pinion seal and we see the drippings when the car sits, but we don't see what has leaked while driving. We need to habitually check fluid level to help minimize those bearing failures and other failures. My OEM passenger side carrier bearing went the same way as the pics.

Ouch -- them are toast. Strange how it is basically one sided on the race.

looks like that rear broke at one time and who ever didn't bother to check if the peices got into those bearings.

Well damn did you get a look at your bearings on the axle? I was told the outer bearings don't have races they just ride on the axle.
