Lost 5th gear. All other gears are fine. Sometimes rev wants to pop out. When I go to engage 5th gear it doesn't even grind, and sixth works perfect. Not sure what this could be?? From what I have read if I lost 5th I should have lost 6th too. Any advice would help every trans shop wants to rape me so I am hopin this somethin I can do myself....

Could be a fork, synchro or slider key. Either way you have to drop the tranny, pull it apart, rebuild and you may as well upgrade to stage II while you are at it then reinstall and fill with Dex III. You are looking 1,600.00 maybe a little more. Sorry for the bad news.My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

As I stated in your other thread on this subject.
There's no way to fix this from outside the trany.
