Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
4 channel rear - Will it work
Sure this question has been asked but i'm not too familiar with rear ends
I have a 98 Z28 with 2.73s and it whines a lot and has a pretty bad leak
Was going to have this rear end redone, but i found a 4 channel 3.23 rear out of a 98 SS.
My question is will this work, if not then why?
If it will what will i have to do to make it work?
All help is greatly appreciated
thanks

No it wont. A 4 channel rear uses reluctor wheels for the abs on the outside hubs whereas a 3 channel has a single one and sensor in the pumkin. U could convert it over but thats a big hassle.

It will bolt in and work fine. The only thing(s) that might not work is the TCS and ABS. Do you have ABS and Traction control right now? If so then you have 4 channel.

Ok then that means you have a 3 channel rear end.
2 series refers to the diff carrier and what gears bolt to it.

Everything mechanical will work fine. ABS TCS might not work without some modification to the housing.

Found a 3 channel 3.23 rear
think i'll do that instead
Would look more for a 3.42 rear, but those are always beat on coming out of a 6 speed
Anything so i can save up some money for a 12 bolt
