    Are you a M6 car???

I have seen a Firehawk on a stock 3.73 rear end w/ auburn posi over 600whp do just fine on a 10 bolt... you know why? It's an Auto car that had a 3200 stall at the time.

My Z28 had 2.73's and a 3.23 car does much better then my car and ran a .5 faster in the 1/4 mile with same mods of intake and full exhaust. 3.42's will def be a decent gearing to go with. I do agree 3.73's will make a good track gear for the auto if you don't do high speed runs.

I would talk them down to around $200 and say you found a 4 channel rear end for $150 but they are more convenient to get this rear end from. If you go with a 3 channel as I had to do temporarily then you will lose ASB and ASR traction control because of the lack of exciter rings and wheel speed sensors in the rear. I personally have broken 2 rear ends already but my SS is a 6 speed. So if your not going to beat up on it, you really don't need the $3,000 rear end set up like I need pushing 400whp.

They want $400 at the local shop for a 75k mile 3.23 rear. They said its out of a 98 Z28 convertible GU5 car. However, the 98s are different rears right? Just the internal posi I think but not sure! lol
GU5 is 3.23's. A shop will charge more for a rear end any ways. I think only 98 SS's had an Auburn Posi not the Z28. I had a 98 Z28 w/ 2.73's and just full exhaust. I ran a 13.3 @ 106mph on a 2.1 60ft with street tires. Prob could have hit 13 flat or high 12 with sticky tires.

98 + earlier were Auburn 'posi',99 + later were Torsen 'posi'. There's been a lot of 'breakage' lately with the Torsens, the 4 assembly bolts are loosening and backing out. Check out the gears & axles forum on ls1tech.
