Do you have a 6-speed????? If you do you can go as high as 4:11's because of the overdrive in them.....just all depends on how much money you want to put into it...

I've got a 3500 stall, with a 2.5 STR with 3.73's and I couldn't be happier. My gas mileage didn't change one bit on the freeway and I still get about 340 out of a tank. Around town it's a different story. My converter doesn't go into lockup until about 45mph, so if you're tooling around town under that speed it will kill your gas consumption. I think I get about 240 out of a tank around town if I don't hit the freeway any. Hope this helps.

the stall converter has to match up with your camshaft and intake manifold to really be efffective. the bigger your cam, the higher the powerband is for it and you want your stall to start at the bottom of the powerband. same goes for intake manifold. if you want a performance car, 4 of the most important things is matching the camshaft, to the stall, the intake, and the gears. if you have a stock camshaft i would still go with a 3500-3800 stall and you will stall around 3200 or so...when you change your cam and motor and pull more power you will already have the correct stall speed "unless you go wilth a full blown race cam". I run a 3500-3800 stall with a 293/294 cam at 50 thousandths, 540lift 545 duration, with 373 gears and its amazing. the difference between that stall and the 3000-3200 is like night and day. you cant understand the difference of the bigger stall until you drive one.
