    3.73 or stay at 3.42

I have a set of the Motive 3.73 but now I am thinking if I should stay with the Factory 3.42, the only thing I have is a TR 227 227 112 lsa 586 lift, Weiand LS6 intake, Mac Mids, and all of the suspension.

3.73's are for autos. I would get 4.10s.

Thanks I know but I do take my car on long trips vs. riding around town and just was wondering if I was going to benefit any with the 3.73's.

Don't waste your money on 3.73's. I put in 3.90's and wish I did the 4.10's or even the 4.30's. If I were you save the money and buy a 9". for the money you spend on a gear swap, you are about 1/4 of the way to a complete rear end swap. Wish I would have done this I am now saving for the 9". with the 6 speed, you are looking at only a couple hundred rpm difference between the 3.73's and 4.10's.

3.42 to a 3.73 just isn't worth the time and effort not to mention the money for another install kit,,,,,just to go up to a 3.73? Sheeesh if you are going to make a change make a big one.

If you run a 6 speed then a 4.10 wouldn't even be questioned in my opinion. Then again if you are still running a stock 7.5 inch 10 bolt I wouldn't bother at all with any gear change,,,those things are on borrowed time anyway and aren't worth sticking any money in them. Go for a 9 inch or 12 bolt and save yourself some money on down the road.
