If you want to be igornerent then do not listen to them. Stall's will make you're car faster but they will feel like there slipping every time you take off and the faster you take off the more jerky they are. What I mean is if you just punch it like half throttle at a stop light from idle it will take a sec and then just smack you back. I personally hate big stalls and can not stand any thing other then small stall’s no bigger than 1800. You need to test drive a stalled car before you go and buy a stall. You can't ask us weather you will like a stall or not just go out and test drive a stalled car or go and watch some of the video's people have posted around here.

of course there is a slight delay. sloppy i wouldnt go that far. go 3000-3200. get 3.73 because the 3.73 will absolutely wake up the car. and as BBB said. the stall is the best bang for your buck for a A4. Make sure with the stall you get a shift kit and lift your shift points with a tunner.

dont go too high, I got 3.73s put in my A4 w/ a 4300Vig Stall, Acceleration is amazing, buy daily driving gets annoying. I think I am going to a get a restall at 3600 or so. But, consider since 2003 I have only put 12k miles on it I dont really drive it much (24k total miles)

3600 locker is still very streetable. Add a tranny cooler & you should upgrade the clutch basket (beast) if you plan on hitting hard once in a while !!! Of coarse after you do all this, you will blow the stock 7.5" rear ! But it's only money !!!

Pretty much what drag racing is, whoever spends more money goes faster. Mine is still streetable. Just gotta get into it a bit more. Need to get a tranny cooler though.

i went from 2:73's to 3:42's and love it. went from 9.2 in a 1/8 to 8.5 by switching gears. not a bad deal and i love it around town lots of torque when i want it. putting a 3600 yank in in now hopfully it will be evwen better than before.

drag radials, a nos 5150 kit(125 dry shot), and lid will net you consistant 11 second passes(especially in an auto). You can get all of that for under a grand--about 800 bucks if you shop around. You can't beat that; an 11 second car for a little less that a grand. I ran 11.80's at 120 mph with my m6 with this set up. My buddy with the exact setup with an auto ran low(every pass) 11.70 passes at 117-118. Oh yeah, We both had the y-pipe mod done for 60 bucks as well. Screw all of the window switches, purges etc. Not needed for this level of upgrades.

I have an A4 with 2.73 and a Vigilante 3200 stall. The increase in performance was 4.5 tenths in a quarter mile. I went from 2.2 60' to a best of 1.88. The street manners are not that bad, you just cannot give it as much throttle from a start or you will roast the tires. If the STR is right the slip at low rpm's is not too bad, and it locks up at 45-50 mph and is the same as stock. I dont know if I could go much higher than 3200 and still hold traction with the BFG DR's. All in all I LOVE my high stall converter.
