i'm wondering the same thing, i've done a lot of research and talked to some of my friends that are running low 11 sec. cars and they all said to go with the S60. For me in particular i want the S60 because i have an m6 and manual trannies tear up the rear-end a lot easier and quicker than auto's. Also with a dana S60, hopefully i will never have to worry about it breaking unless its a defect or something. As far as the 12 bolt i've heard there good, but for only a little bit more money you can get the dana which is a lot stronger....go with the dana S60

also as far as your gears go i would use 4.10's unless u plan on driving in on the highway a lot like me i have to drive 2000 miles to get to college, then i would go with the 3.73's which is actaully what i'm gonna get with the dana S60 as soon as i get the money

the dana will bolt right in the only thing u need is a new driveshaft or shorten your driveshift by 1.625" but u don't need to weld anything or change and brackets at all , it just bolts right up , i just talked to strange yesterday about that

the moser 12 bolt works just fine, I will probably use that in future when I get to 420+rwhp

would the 12 bolt give a better rear end or will it improve stability, wheel hop as well?
also for drag racers there's a moser 60

Both rear ends are good but I have heard the Strange is slightly better in quality.? I have a 12 bolt Moser and have absolutly had no issue at all. As far as drag racing you will not really see much as far as a change in stability from the stocker. Usually the thing about stability and drag racing is you put wrinkle wall drags on the rear with a big sidewall and that tends to wobble a little. As far as wheel hop that you need to look at better LCA's and possibly adjustable LCA's and torque are so you can work on the pinion of the rear end.

i also heard that the moser 12 bolt has poorly machined torque arm holes, and from that the torque arm can loosen up, and sometimes it doens't line up at all when trying to install it
02 T/A WS6: Borla cat-back, SLP lid, fan control switch, strut tower brace, panhard bar, powerslot rotors, hope to have strange S60 rear-end soon with 3.73's, sphon lca's, front and rear sway bars, sub-frame connectors, headers

moser 12 bolt uses threaded holes as to a Strange will use the thru-bolt setup, like stock. gm engineered it that way for a reason, why would moser change it. as i've said before, Strange is a much better piece.

One thing to think about when looking at these rear-ends is weight. I think if I got the right facts the 12 bolt weighs like 10 - 15 lbs more than the 10 bolt and the S60 weighs 25 lbs more than the 12 bolt. Maybe that little weight really doesn't matter, but every little bit counts right?? One more thing to consider is the internal drag that each rear-end will have. The bigger and stouter rear end will generally have more drag right?? I have heard that is the biggest downfall to a 9" rear end vs. the 12 bolt. Maybe the S60 is the same way. It maybe stronger but what price do you pay? Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I'm still trying to figure out which rear end I want... my 10 bolt, needless to say is dying!!

    Just my 2 cents...

yep good points.. I heard if you pull 420+rwhp, then 12 bolt start being a good idea to have. it also depends how aggresive you drive/race..

If you have an auto I wouldn't even consider the 60. 12 bolt is all you need. For M6 I'd go 9 inch or 12 bolt. I've got an M6 and a Strange 12 bolt and launch at 5,500-6,000 on ET Streets no problem.
