would you trade.. (96 ss camaro for 01 z71 1500) help!

Long story short i bought a 1996 stripper Camaro SS for a great deal

The only downside is the paint isnt geat and there are a few scuffs here and there. Problem is id be better off owning a truck vs having 3 sports cars.

I have an offer for a 01 z71 1500 quad cab, i know the motor is strong enough buy this one has 230k. My question is ....should i even consider the trade? quality trucks?

luckily it doesnt snow here! are these motors holding up past 250k?

that all depends on how hard that car been ran before you got it. it could run another 10 years or start knocking next week. lt1s are good motors not putting them down. Upside that is a 96 first year that the ss came back. Whats the car number?

the lt1 runs strong, im paranoid about the high mileage on the truck.

the ss is #975, its a complete stripper car...hardtop,manual options,cloth...at first i thought for sure it wasnt an ss but slp confirmed this. seems extremely rare id love to sell but no one is buying at the moment...

I would trade. 4x4, quad cab. And you already have the other two. I would jump on it. Sounds like you would be getting the better end of the deal.

Should be a Gen3 5.3 in that truck. Worst case would be some rebuild needed on that motor to asure it's good to go. Plus you'll have a good tow vehicle in case you ever feel like getting a boat, or a trailer for your cars on track days. That Z71 can handle that easy. Hell my 4.8L Sierra hauled my TA plus about 800ish Lbs of stuff in the bed for about 600 miles on the bumper hitch. This trade sounds good to me, you'll be getting the better deal as long as there's no major issues with the truck.

i know some people with 300000 plus on those gen 3 5.3 great motors trans is what you have to look out for and rust.

ZGo with the truck, you already have two sports cars. The truck can do alot more then a Camaro.

well deal didn't work out. Felt like the trans was slipping so I passed. Gonna continue to look around. Will probably just end up selling the car, trading is becoming too frustrating. Seemingly everyone wants to trade off their junk with 200k miles

I was going to say the mileage would shy me away right off the bat no matter how well it ran. It's not just the engine,,,,it's everything else too. You can find a better truck if you shop around.
