Won't take gas at the pump
05 suburban won't take gas when you go to fill it up, it takes a little and kicks off then takes a little more and kicks of, it takes for ever to get even 10 gallons of gas in this thing, any ideas?

Is your SES light on?
Probably a vent valve stuck closed, but that should throw a code.

I take it you've had this happen multiple times?
I worked at a gas station for several years when I was younger and found it to be a problem with the actual pumps that occurred every so often.
What I would tell people to do (if a pump problem) is start off VERY slowly and then gradually increase the flow until full flow was established.
If not the pump, I agree what he said.

I actually had this problem with my Camaro over the weekend.. I think its because some of the pump nozzles aren't the right size and don't fit all the way in. I ended up just pulling it out and barely putting it in the tank and it pumped full blast, just be careful and back off when you can hear the gas coming up.. Hope that helps!

A friend of mine had this issue with his 03 Sierra 2500 HD. One of the vent lines coming out of the tank was clogged so it would take forever to fill up. Check all the vents, the get covered in crap.

My Camaro just started doing the same thing. The SES light showed up soon after so I hooked it up and a P0440 code came up. EVAP System No Flow During Purge.

Stuck closed vent valve. Or the line leading up to it. Somewhat common problem on GM trucks.

This likely an indication of the purge solenoid not operating..
Purge air comes from the charcoal/evap canister which is fed by the tank vent line..
Iirc a bad fuel cap can cause limited flow or non @ all..
Could even be a diaphram issue @ the canister itself or even a vac leak.Last edited by Smittro; 01-18-2011 at 02:43 AM.

I'd start with the purge solenoid.. I don't know where it is the LS1 cars but they used to mount them on the fire wall or on a small bracket attached to the engine on other cars..
Mine happens to be highly visiable because of it's location and how it mounts to my UI..
I do know yours is more like my old z34 setup with a solenoid having 2 vac lines instead of just one like my 3800..Last edited by Smittro; 01-18-2011 at 01:27 PM.

maybe try just going to the first click on the pump? the slowest you can go? it may suck in the cold, but thats the way i've always done it, just put the noozle in there, click it 1 click and wait.

I never seen it on GM, but do see it alot on ford. I just turn the nozzle upside down and let it rip. I see alot of chryslers, mainly the dodge nitro, jeep liberty, jeep commando, dadge durango and newer wranglers spew gas after they are filled, I mean spew as like projectile vomiting. I think it has something to due with the tank/filler neck/hose set up.
