That's the plan -- to get a car into the trailer and set up the hitch. I dropped the pressure in the air bags to 5 p.s.i. to lower the truck a bit more in the back. The manufacturer recommended a hitch height of 19" to start and I was a bit more than that initially. But as you stated, with a load on that is all going to change.

Ya, it's hard to tell in the pics how the trailer wheels are centered in relation to the length of the trailer. But you may be able to move the car around just a tad to fudge the ride height depending on where your tie down straps are on the floor and stuff like that.

If I'm carrying alot of tools/ pit bike/ parts/ up front I tend to move the car back a smidge to lessen the tongue weight a bit.

You'll figure it out. Then you get to have some fun with the new toy.

Loaded the Corvette into the trailer tonight -- no problem. Going to store it there while I work on the Trans Am. Otherwise, I have to park the Suburban outside and I hate doing that as we live on a dirt road. I really need mirror extensions on the truck. Can't see a darn thing backing up and I brushed a few small tree branches with the back corner of the trailer while parking it.

I have been working on the trailer trying to get it ready for its first real outing next weekend. I have the winch mounted and tonight I wired the truck to power it. I used all 19' of 6AWG that came in the install kit to make it to the back bumper of the Suburban -- had a few inches to spare is all. I will need to extend the harness on the winch to get it to the bumper and figure out how to route it as I do not want to drill more holes than I need to in the trailer. The cabinets and storage bins all showed up this week from Ohio. I went with aluminum diamond plate to keep everything as light as possible. Hope to get it all mounted this weekend and then I'll get some pics up.

Unloaded the Vette tonight and then put the Trans Am on getting ready for Carlisle. In all the fun, I forgot to take pics of the cabinets and bins. I did get this one though:

That be the wife's car. I did the restoration on it a few years ago... it was in sad shape. She has owned the Vette since she was 21. All I'll say is she is 3 years older than me, so you can do the math.

You don't see too many of those restored. Very cool that she has hung onto that for this long.
I suspect they will come into their own shortly. The 68-72 bumper cars have already jumped in price 50% in the last 3-4 years. It's only a matter of time and people will start grabbing up the 74-79 models.

Great looking trailer by the way. You'll have a ball a Carlisle. Wish I wasn't so far away.

Pics of the cabinets and floor bins:

I will probably measure the area between the two cabinets and order a fixed shelf unit. It's dead space anyway and would be a great area for helmets.

    Looks good!

You need to start putting up stickers and banners inside that thing. Really make it look like a racing trailer

I thought that is what the car was there for... to make it look like a race trailer.

The trailer pulled great behind the Suburban -- I think I posted that I was not able to use the weight distribution setup as it ended up tipping the back of the trailer down and there was not enough adjustment. I put about 30 lbs. of air in the rear spring bags and it seemed fine. I definitely knew there was something behind me, but no problems at all even running the hills. Total trip was around 325 miles and I averaged 9.3 mpg.

The trailer made its first outing to the track this weekend. We gave the truck a hell of a workout getting there. Temps were running over 100 degrees with high humidity the entire way down. Pulling the hills, the transmission temp topped out at 199 degrees and the engine temp even climbed up to around 220 on the longest hill. After that hill though things were good the rest of the way to the track.
