But on the bright side, the engine/trans combo is good for 300k to 500k. These things are sooo durable. So at 150k...you're barely broken in.

I thought there they put updated injectors in? Or do the updated one fail too?

They may be updated, not sure. But yes, they do eventually fail. My buddy's LB7 is approaching 300k and the injectors are starting to show signs of failure. It'll be the 3rd set for this truck. And it ain't cheap. A shop will charge about $4000 parts and labor. maybe more, maybe less. Wanna do it yourself? its still about $2000-$2500 or more just for the parts.

I know its not cheap, that's why I have been looking for a truck that had them done already.

Test drove the dmax today, the truck is very clean. Pulled the dipstick and the oil was still clear. Stock exhaust and intake but it does have 5 tunes programmed into it. Seems like they are all tow tunes since that is what the truck was used for. I'm going back up on Tuesday so I can take it home and get it up on the lift for a better look at things, but from what I saw today I looks like I will be buying this one.

It's expensive because on the 1st gen LB7's, you have to remove the cylinder heads to change the injectors (good ole direct injection that everyone is praising on these new cars now )

The LLY's that came out in 2004.5 were changed to a different injector (so no injector issues) and they were moved to the top of the cylinder head, so if there ever were an injector issue, they are much simpler to change. That feature alone is what had me looking at LLY's instead, that and a smidge more power.

I found this 94 with a 6.5 TD. Decided to experiment with oil burners.

Great truck. Judging by the amount of light splatter though, I'm guessing those are some aftermarket xenon bulbs in the stock halogen housings, or an aftermarket xenon conversion of some sort. For the sake of everyone driving around you, please take them out, you're blinding everyone. Otherwise good to go, and just say no to ugly (99.9% of) aftermarket wheels

I plan a doing a 2in leveling kit with a 285 tire, I will be keeping the stock rims. I don't like any aftermarket truck rim, especially those cheesy looking black ones.

Good man. What alot of people don't realize on these 3/4 ton wheels, they are a heavy forged one piece wheel designed for heavy loads. Anything you buy aftermarket that's cheap (and you know people won't spend alot of money) is going to be a cast wheel that in my opinion is marginal to do the kind of work these Dmax's are designed for.

Something else people forget, especially when just buying tires for these things, are the factory valve stems that come in the OE forged wheels are a high pressure steel piece and a tire store will replace that with the cheap rubber stems. A good "E" load range tire is an 80psi tire and that's a cold pressure. A rubber stem is not something you want in there.

None of this stuff is something you want to cheap out on. And balancing some of those cheap aftermarket wheels?? Goodluck, I've had nothing but problems balancing that stuff. Okay rant off
