    Power steering issue

A friend asked me to look at her truck for her, she's having a steering issue. only notice it at a stop or at really low speed, i.e. parking. When you crank the wheel to the left and step on the gas it seems restricted and the steering wheel will shake/vibrate, and will do this moving forward or reverse. When the wheel is turned to the extreme right there is no problem or restriction in acceleration. At a complete stop I feel a slight vibration when I turn the wheel back and forth, but it's more of a vibration from the pump or steering gear as it moves the fluid (if that makes any sense). I looked under the truck but didn't see any rubbing, leaks, or loose/broken parts (but I was at work so couldn't lift it and really do much). P/S pump fluid was full and clean. Was wondering if it was the pump, but could it be the steering gear since it's only doing it on the one side??

    IDK, any tips/pointers/thoughts/questions??? Thanks guys..

GOOGLE Silverado steering low speed. There is an upgrade 670 to 680 steering box. This fixed one we had. There is also a problem discussed with a orifice sensor. I would lean towards the steering box since its only one direction. We had sensor issues on the 98's but not the 99 ups. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, guys. This all helps. I was thinking steering box, pretty sure that's what it is. Didn't think about the CV shaft being a possibility. If I rememeber correctly it has under 90k miles
