The greatest thing about that LS2 is, even with long tubes and a real good exhaust, it's very tame at idle and low RPM's. And then when you mash it.... DAMN.

Any plans to run it at the track next year?

Luos, get some before and after track times.
I'd love to hear about the difference some of these simple mods do for the trailblazer SS.
I've been looking pretty hard at some 07-08's forsale. Very tempting. I'd probably mod in a similar fassion.

I wish I could get some before and afters....but I think everything will be installed 2-3 months before the track opens back up again in April.
I had planned to get to Bandi in October, but work kept getting in the way. Apparently they run 15.4-15.6 there with good air.
I am expecting lower 14's with everything on it. Guys see upper-upper 12's at sea level modded with what I will have, so....
I still need to pick an intake and decide if I want to port the TB. Throttle response alone is apparently worth it.

The RWD ones are a bit lighter with less drivetrain loss (obviously) so they are a touch quicker. Some see lower 14's stock. AWD's tend to be around mid-14's.
Trying to find the stock list on TBSSOwners.com, but not coming up with much. Stock converter, intake, tune has a few trucks doing lower 13's with the RWD platform.

Which platform did you end up with? I'm looking at all-wheel-drive models specifically.

I have an AWD. Wanted it to be as safe as possible for when I have Sara. And we can get some shitty winter weather at times.
It is a blast in the snow, if you need to go, it does. I just prefer not to drive it in the snow if possible.
Been looking a bit, a few guys were able to see 13's with stock AWD trucks. Good air, Atco in the winter type situations I would imagine.
I think there are quite a few differences in times thanks to GM basically just parting them together over the 3 years they were out. Leftover LS2's and leftover TB chassis'.....TBSS
Not sure if I will ever cam the thing. It is too heavy to go too quick.

AWD is pretty cool in something that makes power. We had a Typhoon for a few years. Loved it. It was a 60 foot monster. Spool it up and go, 1.7 60's all day long on the stock goodyears.
My wife thought she might like the TB SS, and AWD for her would be best for the occasional light dusting of snow we might get.

They jump and go. I kinda enjoy scaring people....can be a bit slick and it still will toss you in the seat. Even on the shitty RSA's.
Downfall is the 4800 pound part....

4800 lbs. is getting up there. Running 14's is nothing to sneeze at considering the weight. To get one in the 12's is doing something.

The power is there for sure....
Honestly my biggest complaint is the transmission. Hoping the servos and shift kit REALLY help it out.

Don't they put the 70 in those?? Should be a little better than the 4L60E.
I put a 60 behind my 6.0 swap in the blazer (the 80 wouldn't fit) But I threw everything available at the 60, billet parts (front drum), hardened shafts (keep it clean guys ) Red Alto clutches and colleen steels, 5 pinion planet, beast shell etc......all in hopes of it lasting a while. Should hold about 600 HP which seems to be about the 60's limit. So far so good. Heavy vehicles are hard on parts.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 12-14-2011 at 04:10 PM.

Yup, 4L70E.
It....is sloppy. I have heard nothing but good things about adding the servos, shift kit, and cooler. I have my fingers crossed.
Doesn't hurt I am a mile high though either....with mods I should be around stock times at sea level.
I think done right they are ok, but not reliable enough for a street/race type vehicle that lays down a good amount of power and launches hard.
Dan went through one Stage 5 FLT 60E....and would probably go through another if he drove the damn car.
