    Oil pressure sending unit help!

So today I just replaced my third knock sensor in my 07 Silverado classic 4.8l with over 180k. This time around I figured I would replace my valley cover gaskets as the sensors sit in the rubber bushings (whatever you call them). While removing my valley cover I had to put quite a bit of pressure for it to release from the rubber bushings that the cover popped up quickly. I fear that from doing this I may have unplugged or broke the wire going to the OPSU and didn't realize it. I put everything back together and took it for a drive when I noticed that the oil pressure read 0. Now it's not throwing a code or given me any warning lights, and I let the engine idle up to running temp and didn't hear and taping from the lifters. My guess is that there are two signals for the oil pressure, one to the gauge and one to the computer. Somebody please help!

Definitely something not right back there. The OPSU is a PITA for lack of a better description. They are impossible to get at in an F-body, but as you have a truck you might have better luck. Get a light and inspect everything back there carefully - could be disconnected, wire is pinched or the sender is broken...

Thanks, I guess I'll be taking that intake off again tomorrow. I need the truck for work tomorrow so I hope I'm not hurting anything.

Cracked OPSU will show no pressure as well. Just be careful, if it's a cracked OPSU with med-high revs you can shoot oil out the OPSU. You start having a mess you will know. With it being a truck you should not need to remove the intake to get to it.

OK so I got up early to see if I could feel the sensor and find out what was going on. Once I finally got my freaking hands down there I felt that the connector was hanging loose. Connected it back up and everything is good thanks guys for the suggestions. A free fix is a great fix

So I got up early to see if I could possibly resolve the issue before heading out to work. I reached to the back (causing a few bloody knuckles) and felt that the connection was completely off the OPSU. Plugged it back in and all is good, thanks for the suggestions!
