    my new 98 Silverado 1500

Traded in the Taurus X. Funny thing is, is that i got more on trade, than i originally purchased it for, hahahahaha... now i have barely any payment for a very short time.

Its a 98 Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD (dont NEED 4x4) ext cab short bed. Its got the 5.0 305 and only got 70K on her!!! yah its only the 305, but better gas mileage, and i wasnt going for the most power. It is in VERY good shape!!!

it has signs of the intake gaskets starting to go, unfortunately for the 11 years it was owned by the guy, it had that god damn DEX-Cool in it the entire time. he never got that CRAP flushed. So i will have that done before winter, flushed and new gaskets.

not planning on any mods, already has a hitch and mud flaps and nice floormats.

Im going to replace the 4-pin receiver hook-up with the 7-pin.

came with the plastic bed liner.

I just got a folding bed cover last week in the mail.

here she is!!! (it is as clean in person as it is in the pics)

A week and a day after buying it...

FUKKIN DEER... more like a velociraptor, hit the side of me.

On my way to work this morning, coming into fremont (getting out of the country and into the city) and BAM. Truck shakes a lil bit, start feeling cold air...

Deer fuggin hit me. It got me GOOOOOD...... no i didnt go find the deer, could care less about it.

got it estimated at 4820 bucks in damage. adjuster put it at 5100 bucks damage after i talked him into a few more things, LOL...

    mmmmmmmmm deer $hit...

this pic shows the damage the best... it shoved it in good.

ive been driving a 2009 Impala with the 3.5L V6 for the past 2 weeks.. thats longer than ive driven my friggin truck... I MISS IT, lol.

the impala is VERY nice tho!! ugly form the outside, the SS look better, but the ride quality is very nice and the power isnt too bad. same power as my 2000 Grand Am GT coupe had. not by numbers, by feel.

the car rides very nice and is INCREDIBLY comfortable!!! but I WANT MY FUGGIN TRUCK BACK, lol...

    hahaha, i hear ya!!

    what it does to gaskets...

my 2000 grand am GT (3.4L) needed the intake gasket replaced at 70K and the truck has signs of it needed too... its got 70K... luckily i got a guy who does it cheap!!! he did the GAGT, after 20 more K on the GAGT, its still perfect!! so this guys good!

but thats why i dont like it.

wanna get it flushed out and changed!!

Never new it hurt gaskets. They seem to go bad alot tho on vortec's don't think it matters which coolant they run just a gm defect as far as I've heard.

GM actually had recalls years ago on a lot of vehicles that used it, not really a recall, more of a "you get it fixed, we'll pay for it". I dont think they actually considered it a recall, i dont remember, it was years ago. My 2000 GAGT was covered under GM tho!!

Th 3.4L and 3.1L had it bad!

First thing my family has always done with our GM's has been get the anti-freeze switched when its out of warranty.

Im buying the Motive Brake Bleeder and changing the brake fluid. And changing the tranny oil. Get those done this spring.

Nice clean looking truck. Very unusual to see trucks from around that year that haven't been run into the ground. Good to see you got it back on the road with little downtime.

    here are the pics.

this is the truck when it got hit...

this one is the passenger side, started taking off the pinstripe before i got hit. And with the pallet of stainless in the back, it leveled the truck out, i like the look of it leveled!!

this pic is the side that had gotten hit. I had the mirrors painted to match!!! i love that look!!

    painted mirrors look good!!!

Nice clean truck. I had that same year of truck. tranny blew at 80000 miles. 1500 bucks to get it rebuilt. Mechanic says they all go out right before 100000 miles. Needless to say i sold it.

first ive heard that. some people i work with, one has over 150K, other over 220K. the 150K is still on 100% original tranny, just changes the tranny oil regularly. the 200K didnt go out until 210K
