Low gas milege.!!

Just recently installed 2002 vett ls1 engine with 4l65e trans with 3:73 gear in 1994 sportside. Was told to expect around twenty [20]MPG I only get 13-14 anyone with similar transplant with suggestions.?

Remember your truck weighs pretty close to 5000 lbs. I installed an 02 LS1 in my truck with a 220/220 - 581/581 - 115 cam, 3200 stall 4.10 gears and get 16-17 depending on my driving. I haven't really kept my foot out of it to see what it really get's. Probably not much more than what I'm getting now. Blows the hell out of the Vortec I had but I bought HPTuners so I can play with the tuning. You might want to get some tuning done if you left it stock.
