I just bought a 2002 Chevy Silverado extended cab and i dont know how to fold the back seat down.

I know how to fold the part you sit on up to allow for more cargo space but I cant fold back part down. lol. Anyone know how to?

I know, I know, its a dumb question, but Id really like to know how to do it

On the 07 when you lift the seat part fwd it unlocks the backrest so all you do it fold it fwd.

I tried doing that mid way and it still wouldnt unlatch. Ill have to give her another shot. Thanks!

i know the crew cab back seat folds flat. simply flip the bottom cushion foward to allow the cable to release the seat back (make sure it goes all the way, if the front seats are too far back they won't go far enough to release). if the extended cab folds flat it should work similarly.
although they could be like the 07+ and just fold up. biggest mistake GM made, i love the way the back seat in my GMC folds flat and allows storage behind the rear seat cushion.

you can fold it down but its really not supposed to...there are two anchors, one on each side that attach to the back wall...you actually have to loosen the bolts up that hold the seat to the cab and then lift up to unattach the anchors from the back wall
