97 blazer coolant leak
hey anyone know where i could be leaking coolant from? it does not over heat at all, but when i stop and turn the car off, coolant starts to leak from the back of the block it looks like. does it sound like a loose hose connection?
and it does not leak that much at all, then it will stop leaking after a minute or so, or does it sound like the heater core?

Hmm.. I dont know if it has a dry intake or not...
Rent/buy yourself one of these. Coolant system pressure tester. It WILL find the leak.

just got off the phone with the guy he said they used plastic intake gaskets on those years and they crack and the back of the intake, and that was prolly the issue with he said the gasket to fix it runs about 120 so it would be around 400 bucks to fix it.
or it could be a small nipple at the rear where the hose enters the block which runs 10 bucks. so its either a big problem or small either way im getting this fixed and looking for a new truck/car

At those prices I wouldn't be so sure of the friend of the family. I have the exact same leak. Couldn't shut it down to fix it because of daily driver for work. It's been leaking for 4 years and I have all the gaskets to fix it. ($36)
Maybe this summer sometime.

I work in a garage and its deffinately the intake gasket they blow out either in on the passengers side rear or in the drivers side front all the time. gm gaskets are plastic from the factory and the dexcool eats them up. its best to get them replaced because sooner or later coolant is going to get mixed in with the oil and then kiss your bottom end bearings good bye
