What size exhaust on 73 charger?

I have a 73 dodge charger with a 360 bored 30 over headers, cam, rpm intake,750 carb, and alum. heads. the car has 2 and a quarter pipe with a cross over pipe. The rear section of the exhaust from the mufflers back is 2.5 I am in need of new mufflers now and I wanted to know would it be best to go with the 2.5 from front to mufflers, now that I will be putting on new mufflers .
The problem I have is that the way the exhaust is ran there is litttle room for a crossover pipe as is, the pipe is only about 5" long. If I go with the 2.5 pipe there will be less room for the crossover pipe.Should I go with the 2.5 pipe and not worry about the crossover,go with the 2.5 and end up with a shorter crossover or keep the 2 and one quarter pipe I have?

Honestly the dual 2.25 is more than enough for your engine. You may want the 2.5 to allow for future upgrades, but dual 2.25 is a lot of flow for a 360.
