No love on this site for 4 cyl
Just thought that I would put up a post on this blank forum.
I am parting out my 99 trans am. If you need parts for the LS1 or the 3800 series let me know.

import bastards
my favorite thig about ricers is they say "you got more motor" thats what everbody says when they get pissed hey lose "you got more money in your motor" "you got more money in your car" no we dont. we started off with a better car and spent our money wisely. its not our fault your parents dont love you and you were probably addopted anyway. and the only way you can pimp your ride is by mowing lawns. dude. we work for our upgrades. we dont just tell our parents if they buy us these "cool " ""GO FAST"" parts kids will make fun of us. seriously yea we got more motor. yea we got an advantage. but your lack of intelliegnce is not reason for us to take it easy on you when you "pimp" your 4 door and think its bad ass you knocked off 2 seconds in the quarter mile and still run 17's. ok im done with my ranting and my quote un-quotes. and by the way. its not a race car when you get beat by a 2001 tahoe with a 5.3 4x4 with 7 people in it. cuz you cant tell me power to weight is on my side.

That's a good one! I don't mind the turbo 4bangers that much. They are fun to try to do stuff to, but the turbo 4's don't really get much better fuel milage anyway. My wifes over weighted Eclipse GS turd can barely get better fuel milage than my LS1 car with double the horse power and displacement!!! That's really sad...

With it being as cold as it has been I've been doing only about 15-17 in the city. That one week I was down to 13, but I had a heavy foot that week! Last week I did 17.5 and my wife did 18 with her little 2.4! I was making so much fun of her for that and she doesn't get on it any where near as much as I do.

my gf's eclipse gets like 30 mpg. seriously she drives like an asshole, and we will drive an hour away and back and we wont notice a difference in the gas meter. (its stick also)..... but my moms cobalt that im currently driving gets horrible mpgs.... its rediculous! i floor it once for like 2 seconds and i can watch the gas meter move down like 1/8 of a tank. complete b.s. do u think something is wrong with it? (idk if all cobalts are 4cyls, but we got the base model and it is)

Turbo 4 cyl arent all that bad. I mean, you throw in an intercooler, and a bigger turbo, you have got some power. But lets face it, they have to force thier air in just to get the power that we can naturally. I cant wait to put forced air on my T/A.

it should be somewhere around 28ish i think?
but like i sed, when i floor it for just long enough for it to kick into overdrive then let go of the gas, the gas meter moves down almost an eighth of a tank (fast enough for u to watch it go down) how do i know what the actual mpg is?

The Cobalt SS's are Supercharged. Are you sure that its not one of those? Also, Chevy 4 cyl havent really proven to be all that great with fuel economy.

Was the 05 the first year in that model?
I bet the newer ones get better gas mileage.
How long has GM been in the 4 cyl. business?
