new pontiac G8????
Alright guys, who in here works for pontiac, and what can you tell me about the G8?
I want it.
I want it bad.
-but should I wait for the GXP?
and what the hell is a 6.2 litre LS?
It'll be my wifes grocery getter, so bear in mind that it doesn't have to be as fast as my LS1 (I would prefer if she didn't smoke my camaro in a four door car...)

I don't work for Pontiac, but I finally saw one at a dealership, I think it looks much better in reality that it does in pictures. I was worried it would be too bland, but it looks pretty good. I would want one too!

Me likey! Where do you work and why is it there? I'm digging that blue!
I need more information!
Its gonna get a 400 hp 6.2 LS3 next year (right now its only got 361 hp), could I get those numbers out of the current 6 liter?
Its only $33K so I'm really considering getting one.

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
To tell you the truth I don't know why it was there ?
We do some prototype work for the Big 3 and I did see a guy working on it a couple times but all he did was remove the Seats and center console.
The Car has the Sport and Premium Pkgs and is the highest model available at this time.
It Truly is a Bad Ass Car
Runs mid to high 13's on unleaded Regular (87 octane)
And low 13's on Premium with a tune.
And Yes I want one also.
I ave even considered trading in my Formula for one, bt I'l probably wait a couple yrs buy a used one and let someone else take the hit.

I've looked into them also, build your own on pontiac's web page. Seriously thinking about getting one, probably not until next year though.

I hate to say it, but I'm probably gonna get rid of my "little black wedge" (02 Z28) in favor of a big black G8. At least my wife will be able to drive the G8.
Hey moderators, is there going to be a G8 section?

Well, it'll get a 6.2 liter LS2 (according to the pontiac web site) when the GXP is released, but I don't know about right now...

Black- 2002 Camaro SS SLP
Ok heres the deal. I wanted a g8 GT ''362 hp'' so me and my dad went and test drove 1, A: very roomy, and the back seat is VERY big and has a lean back design.B: car looks pretty good. C: Its the upgrated verison of the GTO, ''if it where still being produced, besides Holden Cars''. But the 3 Reasons i got my 02 camaro ss insted are, The lack of power, yes powerful, but they DEtuned that 6.0 liter engine, also it isnt a ''loud'' car. ''i like the sound''. My dad has one of those 07 Elsade's with the 6.0 L 403 hp engine, and it will get up and go better than the g8, from what i did with it. So if your heart was set on the g8, wait for the gxp, or get the new camaro
EDIT: if its for your wife, get her the v6 model, better gas miliage.

2008 Caliber SRT 4- 1998 Z28/ 1993 Talon awd
Im thinking of trading in the Camaro for the G8 GT. The little ones are getting bigger and I need more room.
But the only thing is that I want to shift my own gears. I think GM droped the ball not offering a manual transmison on the G8 GT.

Too true, I think the GT is supposed to be more tamed, @ least that's the only way I can explain a 360 horesepower 6 liter. The GXP will offer a 6 speed manual, plus horespower will jump to 400. Anyone know how much the GXP will sticker for?

I have the G8 GT. It's not bad at all. 361hp is tuned for 87 octane. I think you can get plenty more out of it with just a CAI and tune for premium. I'm coming from an 02 Z06. The power isn't as good but then again its 800 pounds more. I had an o4 GTO before the Z06 and I'd say the G8's power is on par with the GTO. I ran an 05, 06 GTO on the freeway Friday from 70 - 125 . He got the jump and pulled 2 or 3 cars but didn't pull much more. I also had 3 passengers and the AC on. It's a pretty bad azz ride, go get one.

Is it solid axle or IRS like a GTO? Kind of looks like a four door GTO.

I'm guessing independent from the looks of it. The front don't look too bad,,,but I can't do 4 doors and the rear of it just looks like any other car out there. Kinda looks foreign to me,,,although it seems all the new cars look like that to me anymore.
