Honda s2000
I've owned my T/A for about 3 months now, and i completely love it. It is a 2000 RAM AIR (automatic). This guy that i work with has a Honda s2000(manual) and he swears up and down his car is faster than mine. I only know the basics about my car such as it pushes out 320+HP. I am truly conviced that nothing really compares to AMERICAN MUSCLE especially to the ls1.
Also, what exactly would i need to do to be able to run against a cobra 03 and up i think etc............... That are just stock cobras considering that they have superchargers????????????????????????????????

I'll leave the Cobra question for someone else who can outrun them (I can't outrun an '03/'04 Cobra).
The S2000...(if relatively stock) is not a match for your car in the 1320. You'll outrun him in a drag or roll race.

the s2000 hands down is slow next to a transam. the cobra, there are many ways to go at beating one. one would be to do all your bolt ons and then put a 100 shot of nitrous on there for safe keeping. another would be any forced induction. another would be full bolt ons and a heads and cam package. any way you look at it it's about 3000+ to do it. unless you wanna just do a 150 shot of nitrous with an exhaust and lid. lol.

The s2000 would need some serious engine work or a power adder of big shot of nitrous to take you, and dont underrate yourself the ls1 makes 350hp. As for how to beat a cobra with an auto, i would say bolt ons, a stall and 3.73s gear with some drag radials will make you a cobra killer. There are a couple kids around here running auto ls1 cars with the mods i listed and 100shot of nos, they can hit high 11s-low low 12s, with a cam and all that you would be deep 11s.

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
the only numbers that should be of concern are 1/4 miles numbers. A t/a's ET is 13.5, the s2000 ET is 14-15 [better in newer models] as found here: http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
From a roll-yeah, i think you can own him. From a dig, it looks like a driver's race, really-but i'd say the Ls1 would prevail. Now, through the curves-get a vette.

Since your car is an automatic. The fist mod I would look into would be a stall if you want to take on a cobra. (not sure which one im a M6 guy) im sure other people will help you there.

youll rape the s2000... no matter the year or what race...
as far as the cobra.. omg.. were talking stock dude.. its not going to take a 100 shot, cam, heads, forced induction... none of that, that would be overkill... throw a stall some tires and headers on there, you should take a termy, if not: somethings wrong, hes a HELL of a driver, or he isnt stock...
tires... 250 for some rims and used radials, 400 on a good used stall or 650 or so for a good new one, and pacesetters 300 shipped new.. you will rape a termy from a dig.. period.
i am cam only.. and would cry if a stock termy.. or a pullied termy beat me.....
lowest you should go is a 3500.... 4000 is the best.. go with a yank pt or a vig.

dont know my 1/4.. one could probably reel m in up top.. maybe. i run the 1/8.. 7.6s.. got a friend with an 04... pullied exhaust and tune. he puts 465 to the ground, runs right about the same times.. so just pullied, i wouldnt be too awfully worried.. lol
lol ok.. cause the mods you said would put you more like 5 or 6 ahead... lol.. the 100 shot did it over the edge.. its all good though, better to beat em by a mile

unless the s200 is heavily modded (i mean heavily!) you will definitely win any race. As for a STOCK cobra: full boltons, gears, stall, tires and tune will definitely put you ahead. If hes got a pulley, ur gonna need more. you'll definitely need a h/c swap for that.

though you cant hear..- i love you sweet leaf!!!
L O L start off by saying that i work as a tech at a honda dealer..
comparing a s2000 to a ls1 is like civic<viper... ive driven more than many s2000's... they are slow as nothing else... i guy i work with has one, his fastest 1/4 mile was a low 15. dont remember exactly what.. but 15.2 or 3 at 90 something, anyway, a v6 accord (even auto) will outrun an s2000, a civic si runs the same... and an acura rdx (turbo) runs the same.... unless its a acura nsx no honda can outrun an ls1.
id estamate your ls1 to run a 14.1, s2000's have to rev all day to get any power, yours is instant., unless he has $3000+nitrous... hes doomed.

S2000's are slow and gay. Whoop his ass, its not even a race. You have about a full second advantage in 1/4 mile time, stock for stock. By the time he even gets in the powerband (those engines are GUTLESS) you should be long gone.

I've seen an S2000 run 13.8-14.0 at our track. Don't know the mods but still not a problem for a stock LS1. For the stock Termy's like everyone else said:
stall (3,600+)
long tube headers
cutout
drag radials
lid

S2000's only have one sweet spot from 45ish-70mph. Anything outside that they are slow.
