    96 civic not engaging?

my 96 civic's clutch went out so we replaced the following.
    Clutch plate.
    Pressure plate.
    Fly wheel.
    Master slave cylinder.
But when i put the car in gear it still refuses to go. The mph will shoot up a little bit. But there is no movement. You guys are the smartest people i know.
    Any help?

    Check your shift linkage.

Perhaps when you put everything back together the shifter linkage is not set up correctly.

All I can think of is it wasn't put together quite right, and that is why the pressure plate isn't engaging. The linkage is a good place to check as suggested. But if you are moving just a little, then you should be in gear.

How does the clutch pedal feel now? Normal? Or does it feel like it's just kinda there. You can push the clutch pedal down, put the stick in gear (that feels normal also?), let the clutch out and nothing happens? When you say the speedo moves a little, do you mean it is saying you are going (whatever MPH) but there is no car movement? Are the axles back in the transmission all the way? If the axles were out some, the speedo would show MPH but you may hear a grinding noise or maybe a faint noise. Sometimes if the transmission is in neutral and you rev the engine, the speedo will show a few, false MPH. If all the above check out, and the car worked ok before the clutch job, then you either have the wrong clutch/flywheel/throwout bearing/slave cylinder assembly, or it is put together wrong. If the clutch pedal doesn't feel normal, it's either air in the clutch hydraulics or a mis-adjustment somewhere, or wrong parts. Good Luck!

Woo-hoo, I nailed it in post number 5. Glad it was just an axle not all the way in, and not a head-scratcher where you had to take it all apart to check for correct parts.
