Oil Pressure Sender

Anyone know what size socket the oil pressure sender requires? Or, is a special tool needed? I have a set of sensor sockets, but I would rather be sure of what is back there. Not having any issues with the Bird, just planning ahead and may be doing a pressure check on my step-son's 5.3 as the dash gauge reads way too low imo.

27mm or 1 1/16".

Great Neck makes a special socket that works also. But a normal deep well socket usually works. ChinaZone or a Murray's should have them.

Thanks Ron! It's impossible to see anything under the cowl of our cars and I was a bit concerned after replacing the PCV hoses. Figured it would be best to have whatever is required on hand.

I just asked for the opsu for my car and then got the opsu socket based on the size they gave me^. Have fun with your new cuts.

Thanks! I will if I can get my brother to ever finish my pipe. In lieu of splicing in the piece that came with the cutout, we are making a custom stainless piece that will be welded to the side of the mid-pipe after I cut a window in it. This will be a lot smoother transition and should look a whole lot better.

Jeff, be thankful you don't own a GTO. The socket has to be a thinwall.

Under-grind it, then wrap duct tape around the socket any time you do this.

I have seen ground sockets (turned down on a lathe,) literally explode under pressure and send out grenade fragments. 1" scar on my neck to prove it.

Ouch! Not a bad idea if it is something I am going to really apply pressure to. I think I have only ground on one socket in my entire tool set and I can't remember why I had to do it.
