What kind ya got?
I've got an IR 2112 and 2132 and Snap-On 3/8" that I can't recall the number. Preference is the IRs though

I own all snap on tools and have used many mac and matco. I find it very hard to believe that a bargain ingersoll rand can hold a candle to any of them.

thare all about the same. i have mac, snap on, craftsmen, and husky. you can just get more tork out of the big name comps. my mac is my fave.

I had only Snap-On tools forever but I was tired of sending them out every year to have them repaired. I work in a clean shop and use an inline oiler and they always turned to shit. I-R seems to outlast Snap-On.

I've got a Harbor Freight "Earthquake" 1/2 inch (625 ft/lbs.). I know some of their tools are questionable, but I've had this thing for around 3 years now & it seems rock solid.

About a year ago, I bought a Goodyear Racing 24v cordless 1/2" (~170 ft/lbs.) from PepBoys. I highly recommend it if you can find one. Since I got this thing, I rarely even use air anymore.

Well IR makes them for Mac and Matco. Hell Stanley tools that owns Mac also owns IR

My 2131 is still kicking strong after 10 years and being oiled on the when I remeber to plan

Mine is like 15 years old and is still strong(IM31?). I have to send it out every 18 months to be rebuild. The anvils/square drive always wear out. Change the retainer rings every 6 months. I actually have a 3/8" Snap-On butteryfly that I really like. Have to send that out every 12-18 months. Worn anvil and the trigger sticks in the "off" position. Did that from week 1.

i have a mac for 5 years now never a bad deal with is same with my snap-on 3/8 and i have had it the same time

Anyone that says IR's are junk has obviously not used one long enough. My IR will spank any over priced Snap-On in my shop.

if its a 1/2 inch its most likely made by the same comp. just with a defrint name its the name and torque you ppay fore

I have a Mac and like it, but around my shop the IR's seem to have more punch, last a bit longer, and more rugged than the others.

I have a mostly craftsman tools ,I do have a snap on 18 volt 1/2 drive impact,damn thing is awesome use it on everything.

I bought a new IR titanium (?) I think that's what it is called. Love it. Nicely balanced, light weight, got it for $230 online somewhere. Sears wanted $300 for it, I didn't even ask the tool men how much they wanted. Probably easily over $325. Has 1100 ft-lbs break away torque! Compare this to the latest and greatest and way overpriced Snap-On impact.

My last IR (had it 6 years, had to replace the trigger once) was stolen off my work cart! I've worked at the Goodyear almost 20 years and that has never happened.

People who say IR is junk don't know what they are talking about. All things by any manufacturer can be junk.
