I purchased two 10yr old Mac impact guns about 6yrs ago off ebay and they are the best that I've ever owned. The 1/2 drive one so much torque that if the bolt won't come out it ends up snapping the head off. LOL. But never owned any other and I'm quite happy with what they do for me.

As I said in my earlier post, I've been using the Goodyear Racing cordless for a year now, and that gets my vote. It was well under $100, and it does the job great. I work on my car outside, so it beats the hell out of dragging a compressor and running an extension cord all the time.

On really stuck bolts, I still bring out the breaker bar or impact gun for some extra power, though.

I own a Snap-on 7100 , works great! Best $350. I ever spent on one. I also have IR products, cant complain about them either, rock solid.

If you have to upgrade, get the new 2135 Ti Max Titanium from IR, I might be off a little on the part number. It is their newest latest greatest, light weight, well balanced. I've had it for 6 months now, great. Small size too, gets in tight places. I pick up some of my coworkers Snapons that are a few years old, man those things are heavy! The new Snapon is very similar to the new IR, I like how I can reverse with the trigger hand only. I paid about $230, found it from Amazon.com. Sears and other places sell the same gun for almost $300.

Can't beat IR for the money, my 3/8" drive needs a little "motivation" occasionally.

I'll throw a new one in the mix- AirCat NitroCat Xtreme mini...it just sounds badass. For $160, 700ft-lbs max, 200-500 working, and it weighs a touch over 2 & 1/2 lbs. Havn't had it too long, but it's a beast so far. Sure beats my old Craftsman.

I've been doing this for 25 years or so. When I first started I thought Snap-on was the shit now I know better. I still have my 20+ yr old Snappy but it's more of a hammer now. Still have my 18+ yr old IR231 and it works ok. At work they will replace one air tool a year under $350. I got the 2135TiMax it's now about 2 yrs old been oiled maybe 3 times and still kicks the shit out of my coworkers brand new Snappy. Snap-on used to be better. I think with all the corperate mergering all the big names are now very even, if not the same in a different wrapper. Oh I also have a 20+ yr old CP that still works very well.

I think it's a SN-750 Snap-On. Great gun on the heavy side but GREAT for hangover days due to the "silent mode" I was amazed at how well the muffler system works. It cuts back the power some but usual have NO issue's.

Cordless I also have the Snap-On 18v. There is a newer one out above it. Graet for the track in the pits.

Have yet to find another impact that can out power my IR titanium. Several people in the shop I worked at either bought there own or would use one of the titaniums somebody had.

By far the best 1/2" for under $450
