    Engine Hoist (Cherry picker)

I am going to be pulling my car off of my motor with a cherry picker next week, and I'm not sure weather or not I should rent one, or just buy one...? I will be working on the motor for most of the winter, so I might have to rent it multiple time, hence making it worth it just to buy one.

What brands do you guys have and whats a good hoist for around $200 (I'd like to keep it underthat price, but with a qualiy hoist)? I need it to be foldable too.

    Thanks!

Bryan, I have access to a lift, if you want, we can get all the parts you need and rebuild the motor down here in a weekend. The lift will make it A LOT easier and the shop I rent from has every tool imaginable (including engine stands which will make the rebuild a piece of cake).

Hit me up and we can schedule something...if you want to

my buddies bought a hoist. its a $100 foldable from a local hardware store, and they use that thing to pull $50,000 motors out of race cars. you dont need a "good one" no need to spend a lot of money.

just shop around like farmer equiptment stores, and places like that. they got theirs from "Blaines farm and fleet" I believe

There's a place about 1/2 hour from me that rents out garage bays (I'm not sure how much it is though) but the problem would be getting the car there. The garage I'm renting is at my place, so I can store the engine and car there and work on it as needed...I'm not too worried about doing it with a cherry picker, but you can come up and help if you want
